DR T
BLACK SKULL CORPS OF FIFE & DRUMS CONCERTS.

To end of our 25th anniversary year, B.S.G. are holding concerts in Scotland and Ulster with special guest appearance from the Ulster-Scots folk orchestra, the concert is based on a cultural heritage evening of traditional Ulster Scots folk music and traditional fife & drum music and the not so traditional, the concert-show will run for approx over two hours, with a 25min interval during the show.

The Ulster Scots folk orchestra will take to the stage first to perform their wildly acclaimed show of Ulster Scots folk music, and then B.S.G. will take to the stage to perform their marching through the year’s program which will last for just over 1.hour.)The concert-show we are attempting to put on, with lighting and sound technicians, professional DVD and CD recording people etc, has never been attempted by our kind of band as far as we are aware, this is a new direction and major step forward for the B.S.G. and one which we are all looking forward to participating in.

As for the bands part in the concert/show, we will be performing some intricate fife & drum sets, traditional loyal air sets, jigs, reels, military & some military march sets, along with flute solos and a host of other musical delights, which we hope will be enjoyed by all. we will be incorporating a lot of musical instruments not normally associated with marching flute bands to try and bring a different flavour of sounds not normally associated or performed by street bands like our self’s, The band will be using three different sets of marching snare drums in the concert, i.e. long rope drums, high tension drums, standard military 97s drums as well tenor drums timpani drums bohdran drums ect. We have tried to be as varied as possible for the concert and hope we can give a polished performance and a good account of what our culture and traditions are all about.

The concerts in Glasgow will be held on Friday the 8th & Saturday the 9th of September, doors will open at 7pm. The concert will begin at 8.pm, there will be a licensed bar in the lounge hall on both evening. Bar will open from 7.pm and closed ten mins before the show begins at 7.50pm. the bar will reopen during the interval approx 9.pm for 25 mins, before the second part of the show begins, after the concert is finish the bar will reopen for those who wish to stay for a refreshment

(NO DRINKS OF ANY KIND PERMITED IN THE MAIN HALL DURING THE CONCERT)
